Tripura State Rifles Jawan Kills Tuition Teacher Over Alleged Illicit Affair with Wife

A tuition teacher was brutally stabbed to death on Friday afternoon at near Sonamura Post Office under Sonamura Sub-division in Tripura allegedly by a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan in a case of suspected infidelity.

The victim, identified as Humayun Moshan, was killed near the Sonamura Post Office area where the accused Giyas Uddin resided with his family.

According to police sources, Uddin had long harbored suspicions about an illicit relationship between Moshan and his wife. The victim had previously worked as a home tutor for Uddin’s daughter.

“The accused surrendered himself at the Sonamura Police Station shortly after the incident, and he admitted to attacking Moshan with a sharp knife when the victim visited his house on Friday afternoon.” a police officer said.

Eyewitnesses report that Moshan succumbed to his injuries at the house. The body has been sent to the local hospital for post-mortem examination.

The Sepahijala District Superintendent of Police visited the crime scene to oversee the initial investigation. “We have registered a murder case and are conducting a thorough investigation,” the SP stated. “The accused will be produced before the Sonamura Court on Saturday.”
