The West Zonal District Education Officer and the Education Inspector of Sadar both have issued show cause notices to the Headmaster of Lankamura Higher Secondary School Alok Bhattacharjee for allegedly failing to comply with departmental guidelines during the ongoing ‘Shiksha Saptah’ initiative.

According to official sources, the department issued guidelines on July 11 outlining activities to be conducted in all schools from July 22 to July 28 as part of ‘Shiksha Saptah’. However, information received through social media indicated that Lankamura Higher Secondary School did not follow the prescribed activities for Day 4 on July 25 and instead conducted programs that violated the departmental directives.
Meanwhile, Bhattacharjee has been directed to submit a written response within 2 to 3 days from the receipt of the notices. The authorities have warned that failure to provide a satisfactory explanation within the stipulated time frame will result in strict action.
