A 23-year-old man from Tripura, identified as Debabrata Deb alias Joy, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Bangalore on Tuesday night.

It was learned that Deb, who hailed from Baghan Gram Panchayat in North Tripura district, had been working in Bangalore for the past year. He was employed as a salesman at the Mantri Mall located in Malleswaram. According to the sources on Tuesday night around 12:00 AM Deb’s friends informed his family over the phone that he had died.

Meanwhile, Deb’s three brought him to a hospital in Bangalore where the attending doctor declared him dead. Later, the hospital authorities sensed something suspicious and promptly informed the local Police in Bangalore. The police arrived at the hospital and took Deb’s three friends – Sayan Malakar (22) son of Samiran Malakar, Rohit Sabdakar (23) son of Ratan Sabdakar, and Paritosh Nath son of Late Premendra Nath – into the custody for questioning. All three are from Tripura, residing in North Tripura District.

Deb’s family inconsolable over the sudden loss alleges that their son was murdered by his friends. They have filed a murder case against the three accused at both Bangalore and the Kadamtala Police Station in Tripura. The police are currently investigating the case to determine the cause of death and the sequence of events leading up to it. On Wednesday around 5:00 PM Deb’s body has been arrived at the Baghan Gram Panchayat’s ward no 7 in Tripura.
