Tripura: BJP Holds Three-tier Panchayat Elections Campaign at Murapara
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its campaign in the South Murapara Gram Panchayat area under the Matabari Assembly Constituency in Tripura as the three-tier Gram Panchayat elections draw near. On Sunday afternoon, the party held a well-attended public meeting at Jayanti Bazaar market area.
The public meeting was graced by the presence of several well known personalities including the state Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, local MLA Abhishek Debroy and Mandal President Mintu Chakraborty, District President of BJP Minority Morcha Rafiq Miah and other karyakartas.
While addressing the audience Finance Minister Singha Roy highlighted what he saw as unprecedented political developments in the state. He referred to a recent incident where Congress leaders were welcomed with red roses at the Kakraban Block office, describing it as a scene “never before witnessed in India.”
In his address, MLA Debroy emphasised the importance of service-oriented organisation for BJP workers. He criticised the opposition alleging that Congress and CPI(M) candidates were only focused on “organising through profiteering.”
In a surprising move, Debroy promised a substantial reward of Rs 50 lakh from the MLA fund to the panchayat that secures the largest victory margin for the BJP.
“We will not tolerate those who disrespect the dignity of our state’s women,” Debroy stated, urging voters to reject such candidates.
