
The Agartala Government Railway Police today arrested 8 Bangladeshi nationals and 2 Indian touts from Badargaht Railway Station. The arrested individuals were allegedly involved in human trafficking and were attempting to cross the border into India.
The arrested Bangladeshi nationals include 6 men and 2 women hailing from various districts of Bangladesh. They have been identified as Sahadat Hossain (28) from Chittagong district, Trisha Akther (19) from Mymensingh district, Shapla Akther (22) from Kishoreganj district, Raju Ahmed (21) from Rajshahi district, Sahalam (31) from Rajshahi district, Sukurdi Shek (38) from Rajshahi district, Md. Biplab (19) from Rajshahi district, and Karim Shek (35) from Rajshahi district.
The 2 Indian touts identified as Ratan Paul (55) and Sukla Sarkar (28) are from Sepahijala district. According to sources, the arrests were made based on secret inputs given by police sources and the police are investigating the matter further to uncover the extent of the human trafficking ring. The arrested individuals have been booked under relevant sections of the law and are being interrogated by the police.
