Tripura: Allegations of Fraud Against Bandhan Bank at Madhupur
A helpless customer raised allegations of fraud against the Madhupur branch of Bandhan Bank located in Bishalgarh Sub-division of Tripura. Eventually, the desperate customer sought legal recourse and demanded severe punishment against the accused Bandhan Bank following an investigation.
According to the victim Shima Shil residing at the Jam Chowmuhani area in Madhupur village under Sepahijala district, on April 16, 2021, she took a loan of Rs 80,000 from the Madhupur branch of Bandhan Bank. She was supposed to pay Rs 1,595 weekly which she had been paying regularly.
However, it’s noteworthy that when the bank employees came to collect money from their house they took Rs 1,600 instead of Rs 1,595. But they couldn’t account for the extra five rupees they were collecting each week.
Shima had been paying her loan instalments month after month. However, she couldn’t pay for one year and three months due to sudden illness. During this time, even though Bandhan Bank employees pressured them at their residence she couldn’t repay because it wasn’t possible for them to pay.
