Tripura: DM Holds Meeting With All Party Leaders Ahed of Three-Tier Panchayat Polls

The District Magistrate and Collector Saju Vaheed A who also serves as the District Election Officer called an meeting with the top level leaders of various parties on Thursday at the District Magistrate’s conference hall located at Jawaharnagar under Ambassa Sub-division in Tripura. The meeting was held in preparation for the upcoming three-tier Panchayat elections in Tripura which is sheduled to be held on August 8.

In the meeting the Dhalai District Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai and Additional District Magistrate and Collector Subrata Kumar Das and other important personalities from various political parties were present.
Addressing the media after the meeting District Magistrate Vaheed provided details about the upcoming elections. “The election process will be conducted in 41 Gram Panchayats across three block areas in Dhalai district with a total of 222 seats up for grabs,” he stated. He further added that elections would also be held simultaneously for 33 seats in the district’s three Panchayat Samitis and 9 seats in the Dhalai Zilla Parishad.
The District Election Officer revealed that Dhalai district hVaheed announced that the nomination filing process has commenced on July 11 and will continue until 3 PM on July 18. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a peaceful atmosphere during the election period appealing to all parties and citizens to prevent any untoward incidents.as a total of 80,169 registered voters for this election comprising 40,519 male voters, 39,644 female voters and 6 third-gender voters.
