Tripura: Railway Night Guard’s Dead Body Recovers Near Railway Lines at Sekerkote
The dead body of a young married man was found near the railway tracks at Sekerkote area in West Tripura district, sparking allegations of premeditated murder from his family.
The dead body has been identified as Pramod Kumar Biswas, a resident of Chankhala area under Kamalasagar Assembly Constituency in Tripura’s Sepahijala District, who was employed as a night guard at Sekerkote Railway Station.
It was learned that like other days on Saturday evening Biswas left for his regular night shift. However, his family received the devastating news late that night that Biswas’ dead body had been found near the railway tracks.
As soon as the family members learned about the incident they immediately reached the location along with some local residents as well as they promptly informed the Amtali Police Station.
After being informed the Amtali Police Station staff arrived to recover the body which was then sent to the Tripura Medical College Hospital in Hapania for post-mortem.
On Sunday morning Biswas’s family, accompanied by local residents filed a formal complaint at Amtali Police Station alleging murder. They contend that Biswas was killed in a premeditated attack and his body deliberately placed near the railway tracks. The family argues that the condition and position of the body are inconsistent with typical railway accidents.
“We demand that those responsible for this heinous act be punished to the fullest extent of the law,” stated a brother of the deceased, speaking to reporters outside the police station.
The Amtali Police Station officials have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident and they have assured the family that the body will be released to them following the completion of the post-mortem examination.
